A mother knows her daughter: Sonia Rykiel

I’ve said it before: I have a pretty awesome set of parents. Recently they stopped by for a layover visit following a business trip/ French cooking tour (jealous bone pulsing!)My mom actually broke the handle on her suitcase carrying items back, but packed pour moi trois deluxe French fashion magazines.

One book is a special Vogue containing every individual look from every collection from “Printemps-Ete 2011” from London, New York, Paris and Milan with a special section of accessories! Heart be still, I’ve never seen anything like it! I have been losing countless hours at a time diving in and discovering new loves, and the wonder of classic houses. The soon to be no-more editor of the book summed up one of the most resounding, inspiring, and optimistic themes of the season…

One of my newest obsessions? Sonia Rykiel

The collection hosts an inspiring whimsy and so many colorful looks you can’t help but smile (and some of the models actually flashed their gorgeous grins!) This coral and navy stripped number gives me the same gitty factor I felt when Carrie deplaned in Paris (for the Russian of course) in a similar ensemble.

The pale canary yellow can be difficult, but I love the various pinks, oranges, corals, cinnamons and sparkle combinations.

Needless to say, I’ll be donning a wide brimmed chapeau when the sun resurfaces.
