On Wednesday I “attended” my very first #StyleChat hosted by StyleCaster. It sounds bizarre, but frankly I was ready to jump out of my office window and needed a bit of a break: enter the Twitterverse. I have never gotten so wrapped up in an online conversation and was shooting out answers, replies, and retweets at rapid speed.
One question that got thrown out, and is often top of mind this time of year: how to layer without adding bulk and stiffness. The answer-it’s a weighty issue. As cozy as it sounds to wrap up in cashmere sweaters, a leather jacket, shearling vest, and giant chunky knit scarf, you will also feel slightly like the Michelin man.
This lady photographed by Tommy Ton got it beyond correct. The wispy layers and bold colors create a dynamically layered look without hiding her silhouette or any bulk. While this look lacks the warmth necessary for the cold front moving into the city, it is definitely worthy fodder for chic-spiration.
